New iPhone application unveiled by Sixt
Global car hire firm Sixt has launched the latest update for their iPhone application this week, cementing their leadership in the market of technology driven car hire booking systems. One of the important functions of the new application will allow customers to select their rental vehicle up to four hours prior to arriving at the outlet.
The car hire company’s iPhone application has held a prominent position in the top 20 free travel application downloads, showcasing the need for booking a car with mobile devices. With many car hire firms yet to implement a mobile phone application, Sixt has already released their third edition along with a new Blackberry application as well as an advanced standard mobile website.

DriveAway Holidays launch new brochure for 2010
Australian car rental wholesaler DriveAway Holidays, has launched a new and revamped brochure for 2010.
The company has released the Car Rental and Motorhome Book, which was designed based on feedback obtained by travel agent’s and is much more user friendly than previous editions. The new travel guide to car hire and motor homes provides tips and advice on worldwide car rental, motorhome rentals and Peugeot Leasing as well as many other travel hints.
Readers of the guide will see the inclusion of planning self drive holidays, including what to know before you go and things to look out for when you collect a rental car.
The brochure also features a dedicated section on Peugeot Leasing with details on hiring a vehicle in Europe.

Europcar and Audi present winner with new luxury A3 vehicle
Managing director of Europcar Mr Ron Santiago and Audio managing director Mr Joerg Hofman, have presented a new Audi A3 Sportback to Lisa Clydesdale of Stockton NSW, winner of the Europcar ‘Cartoberfest’ competition.
The prize, an Audi A3 Sportback, was the major prize in the Cartoberfest competition, which was open to all car hirers who rented a vehicle during the 8 week competition. All customers who entered in the competition received a lucky ticket which needed to be redeemed online for the opportunity to win the Audi A3. Ms Clydesdale was chosen as the winner from over 10,000 entrants.
